SYLVIS beneficially manages a wide variety of residuals generated by municipal and industrial processes.

For 25 years SYLVIS has been involved in all facets of organic residuals and biosolids management.

Research plots established almost two decades ago created the foundation for biosolids use in operational mine reclamation.

One of SYLVIS’s longest running programs began with this demonstration of the benefits of biosolids in enhancing the aesthetics of a quarry.

Our History

SYLVIS was founded in 1989 in response to a need for residuals research and the operational management of a large inventory of municipal biosolids.

We conducted extensive research leading to the development of regulations and best management practices enabling beneficial residuals management.

We completed consultation and education programs to increase awareness and facilitate learning.

We identified, assessed and developed short and long-term residuals management opportunities. Concurrently we developed the equipment and resources to provide turn-key residuals management services to our clients.

Twenty-five years later SYLVIS’s mission remains the same – we research, recommend and implement beneficial residuals management.
