We are pleased to introduce you to Victor Nery, MSc.

Victor has a multidisciplinary profile and over 10 years of experience within the forestry and agricultural sectors. He obtained a Bachelor of Forestry Engineering from the University of Vicosa in Brazil and a Master of Science in Forestry from the University of British Columbia (UBC). Prior to joining SYLVIS, Victor was involved with research on the establishment of forest plantations and silviculture in South America. During his masters in UBC, his research was focused on the effects of fertilization and other silvicultural practices on the growth and yield of selected forests in British Columbia.

At SYLVIS, Victor is responsible for coordinating and leading the operations of several projects throughout Alberta. Over the past five years Victor has coordinated the delivery of over 150,000 bulk tonnes of biosolids to the City of Calgary’s Willow Biomass and Marginal Land Reclamation Demonstration Project. He also provides critical operational support for the Obed and BIOSALIX mine reclamation projects and conducts research and development of fabricated soils using hardened and hydrated concrete residuals feedstocks.

Victor is a passionate environmental scientist, dedicated to delivering innovative solutions, and has a strong belief that good science must be practical and economically viable.
