Laura Jefferies is a Project Coordinator with a background in agricultural research. Laura holds a Master of Science degree from the University of Saskatchewan in Plant Science with a research focus on plant responses to chemical applications.  Prior to joining SYLVIS in 2018, Laura worked as a Research Agronomist testing chemical efficacy and plant tolerances in various cropping systems. Laura has a comprehensive understanding of integrated pest management and best cropping practices for agriculture in British Columbia.

As a Project Coordinator at SYLVIS, Laura uses her technical and scientific background to manage and coordinate ongoing projects involving environmental monitoring and applied research. Laura coordinates the landfill leachate treatment program at Ecowaste, where she is responsible for soil, leachate and vegetation monitoring and data interpretation. Laura develops and implements research programs to study the effects of residual applications in various environments. Laura also acts as the Data Manager at SYLVIS. In this role she manages all analytical data received and liaises with external laboratories.
