SYLVites Head Back to School

SYLVites Trudy Naugler Klassen and Haylea Van Vaals went back to school and participated as judges in this year’s Burnaby South Secondary Grade 8 Science Fair Competition. This annual event encourages young science enthusiasts to showcase their deductive reasoning and demonstrate their ability to conduct hypothesis-based testing. From a thought-provoking ‘What is Beautiful’ research project to testing the effect of chemicals on plant growth, all projects showed a high level of critical thinking, creativity and preparedness. Six projects were selected to move on to the Greater Vancouver Regional Science Fair at the University of British Columbia April 2^nd to 4^th. The creativity, passion and hard work was evident in all projects, and we wish the selected projects the best of luck at the next competition!
