SYLVIS closes the loop at the Regional District of Nanaimo 2019 French Creek Pollution Control Centre Open House

Wednesday, July 31, 2019

Christian Evans of SYLVIS participated in the Regional District of Nanaimo’s 2019 Open House at the French Creek Pollution Control Centre, where details of wastewater treatment plant expansion, odour research, and biosolids management program were presented to the public. Attendees toured the plant and learned about the current plant expansion underway, were introduced to the odour monitoring research being conducted by Vancouver Island University, and learned about the biosolids forest fertilization program in local forests.

Increasing the understanding and awareness of wastewater treatment and importance of biosolids management is a SYLVIS core value.  Events like this Open House enable us to engage with the community. We welcome any opportunity to discuss our work in beneficial residuals management. See you at the next Open House!
