Supporting the communities in which we work

Thursday, December 8, 2016

SYLVIS has been working in reclamation initiatives on the Sunshine Coast for over nineteen years. We pride ourselves in being part of the community and every year we support local charities that demonstrate ethics and actions that link to SYLVIS’s core values. SYLVIS supports charities that align with our values of continuous learning, protecting and exploration of the environment. This year SYLVIS supported two community efforts in Sechelt, BC. The first was Sechelt’s Arts Festival. This year’s theme was the Art of Water. The festival engaged in multi-genre explorations of this theme via the four festival platforms of Visual Art, Performance Art, Engagement Art, and Heritage. The second was a greenhouse initiative at Davis Bay Elementary School. The School is working towards a goal of raising $66,550 to build a community greenhouse for children and community members to get together to learn about growing, harvesting and preparing healthy food.

SYLVIS was proud to be a part of these two initiatives and looks forward to continuing to be a part of the communities in which we work.
