Trudy Naugler-Klassen
Environmental Scientist, New Westminster

We are pleased to introduce you to Trudy Naugler-Klassen, M.Sc., P.Ag.

Trudy Naugler-Klassen is a Professional Agrologist with over 10 years of experience in agricultural and environmental research.  She has a Bachelor of Science in Agricultural Chemistry from Dalhousie University and a Master of Science in Resource Management and Environmental Studies from the University of British Columbia.  Her experience ranges from hands on field and laboratory work to research program coordination.

Trudy’s primary areas of expertise are nutrient management, fertilizers, water quality, and laboratory analysis of soil and water.  Her involvement in various research environments has provided experience in field study design, protocol development, data analysis, and interpretation of results for target audiences.  Prior to joining SYLVIS, Trudy was involved with agronomic research for a recovered struvite fertilizer, focusing on phosphorus fertilization and environmental sustainability.  As an environmental scientist at SYLVIS, Trudy applies her analytical skills towards the beneficial use of a variety of residuals from wood ash to water treatment residuals.

Trudy is excited to be a part of the SYLVIS team and believes that managing residuals as valuable resources is critical to long term environmental sustainability.  Outside of work, some of Trudy’s favourite pleasures are travel adventures, delicious eats, and hiking.
